is on the list for now. I have finished the top for my sister and got it in the mail to her. Now I just have to finish one that mom started for another sister. I work on several at a time. I work on the top on one, or do quilting on another, or cut out blocks for the group at the nursing home, or plan and design for another. Plus I help Barbara with the ones she is working on. Quilting is the best way to spend the day. It is restful and gives your fingers something to work with while you are fixing the problems of the world ;o)
Barbara has not been feeling good since her last couple of Chemo treatments. But her markers are down, so that is good news. The doctor gave her meds for upset stomach and plans to lower the dosage of the chemo so that her side effects will calm down a bit. She doesn’t complain but you can tell that she doesn’t feel well. But we both know that she is in God’s hands and He is the one in control! We trust Him to do what is best.
The quilt top is a Grandmothers Flower Garden pattern, centered on a plaid background with blue sashing and borders. I made suggestions to my sister on ways she could quilt it, but the final decision is hers. I would like to see it when she finishes it. It is memorable because it is one that our mom started for her before she passed away.

To answer your question, mom put the flower garden on the plaid background. I thought it was very interesting also and different from anything I have seen before.
It does make for a pretty and unusual quilt top.
